Touchscreen problems

A bubble on the 8.4 inch screen of my 2016 R/T has spread and is messing with the touchscreen. Read this is common, but Dodge hasn't offered any help since I'm out of warranty. Is there a way to make them acknowledge it as a defect?

That's gonna be tough since you're out of warranty! It might be a long shot but try a few dealers? Also I hope you documented the spread of the bubble! Snap pics of the screen and file a BBB complaint. That's a formal way to get their attention. Good luck, and keep that R/T running!

Been documenting the spread, so filing a BBB may be wise. I'll give a few dealers a shot and see if persistence pays off. Thanks!

besides a BBB complaint, you should also consider filing a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
a screen bubble isn't a safety issue in itself, but if the defect affects controls for things like your HVAC or essential vehicle settings, a high number of complaints can sometimes push a manufacturer to issue a recall or a TSB to address the issue

I have to admit I got discouraged and stopped pursuing a solution after the dealers I contacted a few months back were completely unhelpful. They basically just told me I would have to pay the full replacement cost out of pocket. Filing a complaint with the NHTSA never occurred to me. Is it more effective to focus on how the screen failure directly impacts vehicle operations, such as limiting access to climate controls and safety features? I'll find their website and submit a formal complaint before the end of the week.
