I just finished replacing the serpentine belt and automatic tensioner on my 2022 Dodge Durango SXT and I'm pumped I didn't have to pay the dealer to do it. I've been putting it off since I noticed a slight whine during wet weather but after my coworker told me his Durango made the same noise before the belt slipped off, I didn't want to risk it. I used a 3/8-inch breaker bar with a socket extension and got the tensioner moved far enough to remove the old belt tight fit, but doable. The new Gates kit came with a fresh idler too, so everything spins smooth now. Has anyone else with a 3.6L model replaced this before 100k? How long did the old belt last for you?
