the cheap versions of the duranog didn't' come with a remote start like the posh ones, so I wanted to ask people here if someone managed to retrofit it? Potential options, prices, complexity and stuff like that
I've heard that you can add remote start to basic Durangos through dealer programming, as long as they have the factory wiring harness. Alternatively, you could go for aftermarket options like Viper, which usually cost around $300 for professional installation.
I added remote start to my '18 Durango that didn't come with it, I went aftermarket with a Compustar kit. Cost me about $400 installed, works great with the factory fob, it is not too complex if done professionally
Cool setup! Compustar is a good choice, and keeping the factory key fob makes everything look neat. If the install is done well, $400 is a decent price.
