2015 Durango SXT backup camera

I picked up a clean 2015 Durango SXT which I can say is a super nice SUV, but I was surprised it doesn't have a backup camera, especially with the 8.4" UConnect screen. From what I'm seeing in the diagrams, the factory camera might wire right into the head unit without needing an extra module. Has anyone here retrofitted one of these? I'd love to hear how you activated it and if it was just plug-and-play or needed help from the dealer.

I've read somewhere that the factory camera can sometimes be plug and play but you may need to go to the dealer to get it activated in the system settings. can you see if the wiring is already in place? Hope you get it working soon!

I think I know a guy who was able to retrofit a factory camera but he had to take it to the dealer to enable the camera feature in the UConnect. If you're really aiming for OEM, I guess the first step is to check if you have the harness behind the head unit. Hopefully, someone here has done it without the help of a dealer LOL I'd also be curious to know their specific activation.

I looked into this a while back for mine and yeah, the factory camera does plug into the head unit, but it's not that direct, people have needed a dealer flash to enable the camera input on the UConnect, even with the OEM parts

You could wire the factory camera to the UConnect harness, but you need to enable it in the system
